The most important element in life is Air, we can survive as we know without food and water for days, possibly weeks but only two minutes without air. Red blood cells carry oxygen around our bodies and when oxygen enters a cell it is used by the Mitochondria....these are energy producers and each cell contains in excess of 1,500 of these energy makers.
Think of the mitochondria like a hydro dam with the oxygen being like water flowing through...every single part of our bodies is reliant on this energy production. These magic fairies inside our cells turn the food we eat into the energy we use everyday.Currently the research is indicating that it is a dysfunction at this level, at the mitochondria that may be a factor in Fibromyalgia (FM). This all leads us on to the one of my favorite topics which is the Gut and Stress and the inexplicable link between the two, and we all know long term ongoing exposure to stress is a contributing factor to many illnesses.
In the age we now live in where the world is constantly on the go, we have to buffer ourselves better to many different types of stresses that weren't in existence 10/20 years ago.
