My Second Spring & Wellness Warrior making more steps to break the Menopause Taboo in Ireland...and now in the Workplace.
Did you know:
Roughly 75-80% of women in menopause are in work
The UK estimates that by 2020 1 in 3 UK workers will be over the age of 50
Therefore a significant percentage of older female workers will experience symptoms that might impact on their working life
The majority of women are unwilling to disclose their menopause related health problems to their line managers ( most of which might be younger than them or men)
The UK server found that the management of gender specific health issues other than pregnancy are rarely discussed
We want to work with you to change this - Menopause should be talked about as openly as Pregnancy. It is just another transition in a women's life. (The above statistics are from the UK as currently no gathered evidence for Ireland but the findings would be similar in our opinion).
Joining forces with up to date extensive knowledge, Catherine & the team at My Second Spring will continue to educate not just the women but the men of Ireland in all things Menopause. The UK have made great strides forward to make changes in the Workplace for women in this chapter of their lives - Ireland with our help is following suit. Catherine having worked over 20 years in the Corporate Sector has extensive knowledge in this space and fully understands the challenges of working whilst also managing the symptoms of Menopause. Every woman should be able to have an open candid conversation with her manager without fear and be confident in a supportive environment, this will paid dividend in increased productivity and confidence for all.
Following the success of previous corporate talks (Coca Cola, Vichy/Loreal, Viviscal/Lifes2Good) we are now offering a 4 staged program to work with both Management and Employees to ensure the understanding of Menopause is spread and the value of women at this age is understood and appreciated. Too often we hear from women that they will feel judged and seen as weak if they approach their managers with menopause related issues - we want to work with you and your employees to change this perception.

This Perception MUST change. We can help you make that change within your workplace.
