Thursday May 9th 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM GMT Butler House Gardens 15 Patrick Street Kilkenny Menopause Strategies & Gut Health Given the great success of the first Kilkenny Perimenopause Event in March Catherine O'Keeffe will be back on May 9th to host another lively discussion on Perimenopause & Gut Health. This evening will be a deeper look in to peri/menopause and also a practical chat on Gut Health. The content of this talk is different to the first one which was an Introduction to Perimenopause on March 7th. The first part of the night will be a more detailed, practical review of the main symptoms of Perimenopause/Menopause and what strategies you can develop on your own. Catherine will work with the audience to go through any symptoms raised so a toolkit can be devised on an individual basis. This will cover all three types of menopause - premature/induced and natural menopause. Roisin Cahill, an Irish pharmacist, with a passion for all things gut health will talk us through this area in a practical & informative way. We will also talk through the practical foods for good gut health and take the mystery out of the probiotics, prebiotics world.

It is becoming more widely understood that perimenopause and menopause do not adhere to a specific list of symptoms: women's experiences vary widely and so do the solutions to help manage difficult symptoms. Every woman’s experience is unique.

Every woman’s experience is unique and so each woman needs to tailor her own strategy to navigate this chapter. Dave Bradshaw of DBR Running will also talk us through exercise - what works, what helps, what to watch out for and the key exercises to optimize health during this journey. Catherine trains with Dave and loves his down to earth, practical advice on running and all things exercise. This is ideally suited for women in their early 40's up to 60+ and for women in early/premature menopause.
